The art of writing is the art of discovering what you believe.
dRes is one of those cats who I can’t thank enough or say enough good things about. I had initially connected with D back in 2008 in NYC. We were both at a party for a then up and coming mc who had just put out his debut mixtape. Shortly after our initial meeting D had contacted me to tell me about a project he was working on, it amazed me how he managed to get so many high profile artists on his record. The thing that inspired me most was his conviction about his music and the odds that he went against to see it completed. I personally have learned so much about being a multi faceted artist through the example that D has set for me wether he realizes it or not. I’ve watched him grow from afar the past few years and although I know his schedule is ridiculous at the moment, I was very proud to see him release his debut LP “Wild Produce” (which was years in the making). Anything worth doing will always take a concentrated effort, and i’m proud to see where D’s efforts as a producer and manager have taken him in his career. I’m also glad that I can call him a friend, he believed in me at a time when many people (myself included) didn’t.

River On Glass is available now! You can download it here. I know it took a while to get here but it was every bit worth it in my opinion. Nurthice is a true artist and a great collaborator, I hope that you guys can enjoy this work as much as we have.
Always,
Lateef
River On Glass is complete. I’ve been listening to the songs for the past few days and I’m really proud of the results. I’ve always been terrible with dates, but I will say that the album is coming out at a date later on in the month. This song that i’ve chosen to share in particular has really resonated with me as of late. I had originally recorded this track with Nurthice back in november of ‘09, and since that time my life has been something of a roller coaster; lots of highs with many lows. There was a point when I was thinking of quitting music altogether but working on this project with Nurthice, I realized a few things. The things that I thought were missing from my life were present all along. I hope that with this release we can share and find some things together that have always been present.
It’s not about a career, its about believing in something..its about prosperity and its about caring, empathizing and wanting to create the best, the most true to life..the most real..
The truth is not for all men, but only for those who seek it.
I had become acquainted with Dollarbin a couple of years ago through myspace. As a producer i’m always keeping my ear open to different and unique sounds and this is what I noticed when I had initially heard his music. The thing that has always struck me with his sound is that he’s not afraid to take chances, and he doesn’t particularly care about what others think. I find this inspiring and admirable for an artist his age. I had reached out to many different producers that I know personally to remix River On Glass, I knew from the onset that I had wanted Dollar to be apart of this project. It’s rare to meet a producer who really understands the concept of the remix in making the song their own and having their personality grafted to the final project. I’ve had the opportunity to watch him grow as an artist and I feel that he’s on his way to becoming a formidable talent to watch out for.
